BR12:Animal Disguises

Many animals use colour as a disguise to hide from an enemy. This called camouflage.

I often watch the program which features an animal on television.
It is really interesting and exciting. For example, an insect like a branch, a lizard like a rock, the frog that carried out the very bright color are introduced. The animals are camouflaging in order to defend themselves from enemies. Having evolved to the environment where he lives is very great. Someday I would like to watch own eyes them. I also want to study about animals, and go to a forest and national park. There are  many  animals in the earth.

BR11:Money Travels

This 50 cent coin has travelled a long way.
It is so old now that it is hard to see the coin's desing. It is going to the mint to be melted because it is old.

All of the Japanese money travel around Japan. The money someone has may be mine two weeks ago. It is very interesting. The money goes in cycles. The money is made now, and the money also starts to travel around Japan. Five days later, it may be mine or yours. The older money more and more travels than new one. I think that it is very fantastic. I would like to know about the money.

Much Ado About Nothing

I watched Much Ado About Nothing. I felt that it was interesting. This movie's actors and actresses are Kenneth Branagh, Richard Briers, Michael Keaton, Robert Sean Leonard, Keanu Reeves, Ema Thompson, Denzel Washington, Kate Beckinsale and so on. This movie's director is also Kenneth Branagh. This movie was made in 1993. I will introduce this movie's story.

Prince of Aragon Don Pedro and his party arrive at the residence of Leonato governor of Messina. Claudio who is a count falls in love with Leonato's daughter, Hero at first sight. Benedick who is a bachelor and Beatrice who is a niece of Leonato argue violently. Borachio  makes eyes at a Hero's housemaid. Only Don John who is Pedro's younger half-brother is in a bad humor. Pedro know that pure Claudio can not confides to Hero that he falls in love with her. Pedro thinks out a plan which Pedro poses as Claudio and proposes to Hero at a masked ball. Borachio who eavesdrops their conversation tells Don John it. Although John who hates his brother tries to crush the plan, misunderstanding solves simply. Claudio and Hero will get married after a week. Don Pedro also schemes to make a couple with Benedick and Beatrice. While Pedro knows that Benedick eavesdrops, he acts that Beatrice treats coldly to be desperately in love with Benedick. Benedick falls into Pedro's trap and loves Beatrice. Beatrice also believes the lie and comes to love him.

On the other hand, Borachio approaches Don John who fails the first plan on new plan. New plan is that he tries to pretend that Hero have an affair with other man before the day when is a marriage ceremony by using a maid Margaret and lets Claudio witness it. This time, the plan succeeds. Claudio and Don Pedro are overwhelmed with anger and sadness. However,  Borachio who is in a good humor because of the success of the play talks to his friend about  the details of the trick carelessly, Borachio is heard and arrested by a night watchman. Dogberry peace officer torture Borachio and Borachio tells that  Don John is behind him.
Next day, although Dogberry tells Leonato it before the marriage ceremony, the truth is not understood by Leonato because Dogberry's expression is not good. Claudio abuses Hero who doesn't know what happen at the marriage ceremony. Claudio doesn't listen to Leonato and Beatrice. Hero loses consciousness, but Claudio leaves the place. Benedick and the priest are suspicious this detail. Then, the priest proposes a plan. The plan is that Claudio's grudge and anger fades away in his heart and his affection to Hero comes back from the pity and regret by Hero's death because of losing consciousness.
Don John escapes from the town frightened by Borachio's arrest. Claudio has known that everything is John's plot. Claudio is blamed for Hero's death from Leonato, and Claudio realizes the own crime and concents the demand which was forced by Leonato. That is telling the world about a hero's innocence and offering a condolatory song in front of a grave, and marrying the niece of two melons to Hero and becoming an inheritor. The next morning of the untrue furneral, Hero who must have died appeares in front of Claudio. Claudio and Hero are very happy to meet again and the true marriage. Benedick also makes proposal of marriage to Beatrice. Don John caught by people appears in front of the people who filled with double joy. That's all.
This movie is very interesting. Please check it.

Midnight run

I saw Midnight run. It was very interesting for me. American movies are so exciting. I often watch movies, but I haven't seen this movie. The story of this movie is new and first time for me.
The casts of this movie are Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin, Yaphet Frederick Kotto, John Ashton and Joe Pantoliano.

Jack Walsh (Robert De Niro) who resigns the Chicago police is working as a bounty hunter at Los Angeles. He pursues Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas (Charles Grodin) who is the accounting staff who embezzled Jimmie Serrano's  (Dennis Farina) money of the gang by the request of bail finance company president Eddie (Joe Pantoliano). FBI investigator Maudslay (Yaphet Kotto) heard that Jack pursues Mardukas. Maudslay tells Jack not to be able to pass Mardukas beacause he is an important witness for pursuing Serrano. Maudslay disturbs Jack to get Mardukas. When Jack talked to Maudslay, he stole Maudslay's warrant card in the car. He uses it by forged and leave for New York. He has taken Maudslay's name like own name. He easily arrest Mardukas because of Maudslay's name and warrant card. However, Jack is pursued by FBI and the Serrano partisans from now on.

Jack and Mardukas ride on an airplane to go to Los Angeles. FBI and the Serrano's partisans get the information that Jack and Mardukas ride on an airpalne. They are ambushing two men at the airport. Although the air plane arrived at Los Angeles, they aren't in the air plane. They don't get on the plane because Mardukas is the aviophobia, so they has changed how to go to Los Angeles. It is a train. Eddie who doesn't know having changed a schedule is very angry and annoyed because they aren't. Therefor, Eddie asks Jack's men of the same trade Marvin Dorfler (John Ashton) to transfer Mardukas. Jack and Mardukas are attacked by Dorfler in the train. They knock Dorfler down in the train. Jack hands over him to a police men because he is the "FBI Maudslay". They transfer change to the bus. FBI and the Serrano's partisans are also waiting for them at the bus terminal. When they get off the bus, the shooting starts with FBI and Serrano. Jack and Mardukas take a patrol car during the shooting and escape from FBI and Serrano.

Jack and Mardukas unexpectedly visit the en-wife and child who separated 9 years ago. The ex-wife coldly treat Jack because of the sudden visit. On the other hand, Jack's daughter, Denise (Daniel Dyk Ross) expresses joy obediently. The ex-wife is changed her mind by her daughter's feeling, so she provides a car and money to Jack.

The trip of Jack and Mardukas who are pursued by FBI and the Serrano's partisans continues. They experience a lot of things on the way. For example, they contact with Dorfler, shoot the helicopter of the Serrana's Partisans, escape in the torrent and steal the money from the bar and leap aboard the train. As they escape together, the strange friendship appears and becomes more and moredeepened between lonely Jack and gentle Mardukas.
However, at last, Jack is caught by Maudslay and Mardukas is caught by Dorfler . Mardukas is handed over Serrano from Dorfler. Jack persuade Maudslay in order to rescue Mardukas from Serrano and tries the bet to entrap into the Serrano's partisans. The bet unexpectedly succeed. Mardukas who is freedom presents the money which he have hiden to Jack as the proof of the friendship. Then, they separete and live each way again.

This movie is very excited. I became to like this movie after I saw it. I would like to watch it again.

BR10:At the Shop

People buy things at shops.
People need shops because they cannot make or grow all the things they need.
My favorite shops are Clear Impression and TSUTAYA. Clear impression is a clothes shop. There is this shop in Fukuoka, so I sometimes go to Fukuoka and there. I want to get clothes. I talk with a shopper about several things. TSUTAYA is the book, CDs and DVDs store. I often go there to kill time because I can read some magazines and listen to music. I like to see DVDs, so I often rent some DVDs and CDs. TSUTAYA has many DVDs and CDs. I recommend it. Do you have a favorite shop?

BR09:Food from the World

But a lot of it comes from countries all over the world.
Bananas grow on banana palm trees. They need a lot of sun.

When I go shopping to grocery stores, I often see the food from all over the world, especially fruites. What do you think about the foods from other countries? The food from other countries is cheaper than Japanese one. Do you think that quality of the food from overseas is poor? Is the food from overseas dangerous? I don't think so. Every food from anywhere is faithfully raised by farmers. We should understand it, I think. We can't live without food.

BR08:Celebrating New Year

New Years is a very big festival.
New Years is the time to say good bye to the old year. New year is the time to celebrate the coming of the new year.

About two weeks passed since it was set to 2012. How did you do celebrate New Year? Did you decorate pine branches? Did you greet your family and friends? Did you eat rice cakes? I did. The world celebrate New Year. There are many ways which people celebrate by own country. I didn't know that the day which celebrates the new year is different from countries before I read this book. It was very interesting. I would like to know about it more.

BR07:Heating Up

In the next 100 years, it may go up by as much as six degrees.
This rise in temperature is called global warming.

Have you ever heard greenhouse gases? You may hear once. When I was a junior high school student, I learned about the global warming in science class and social studies class. Greenhouse gases is the factor to get warming up. The ices in the North pole is melting by heating up. White bears can't live there. Many animals will be dead by warming up. Some island will sink into the sea as the temperature is high. We should consider what we do. I wish the global warming stops.

BR06:Wind Power

Wind power is created by wind turbines.
There are more than 35000 wind turbines around the world.

Do you know wind power? I know. Sometimes, I see wind turbines on a mountain when I ride on a car. I have been to under the wind turbines as a tour of a wind power. Wind power is very friendly environment because there are no carbon dioxide emissions. Now, the global warming progress. It is a big problem for us. We have to solve and stop to progress the global warming. I think that wind power is good means for stopping the global warming. We have to act for our future.

BR05:The Great Wall Of China

The Great Wall of China is the longest man-made structure on Earth. As I looked at the hundreds of tourists crowded along the wall.

I have studied about the great wall. I like the world history because it is very interested for me and I can know about the world. The great wall is very famous. My father went there when he stayed in China. He said that it was very wonderful. I think that the walls were symbols of the strength and power ofnthe Chinese empire at that time. The great wall is not just the defense. I would like to go there someday.

American Currency

Hello everyone. I went to Minnesota, America and stayed for 4 weeks last summer. I enjoyed staying with my host family. I went to many places, stores and some museums with them. When we do something, we need money. For example, get clothes, ride a train, enter the museum, so I used much money in America. It was a little difficult to use U.S. dollars because they were similar each other, especially coins. So, I will introduce U.S. dollars.
The United States dollar is the official currency of United States of America and its overseas territories. The United States dollars is the currency which is most used in international transactions and is one of the world’s dominant reserve currencies. Some countries use it as their official currency. For example, the U.S. dollars is used in Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, El Salvador, Republic of Zimbabwe and so on.
At first, bills. One dollar bills are printed George Washington. He was the first President of America. Great Seal of the United States is designed on the back of them. Two dollars bills are printed Thomas Jefferson, who the maker of the Declaration of Independence. Five dollars bills are printed Abraham Lincoln, who was the 16th the President. On the back of five dollars bills, Lincoln Memorial. Ten dollars bills are printed Alexander Hamilton. He was the draftsman of Constitution of America. Twenty dollars bills are printed Andrew Jackson, who was the 7th President. The backs of them are printed the White House which is the official residence and principal workplace of the president. Fifty dollars bills are printed Ulysses Simpson Grant, who was the 18th President. One hundred dollars bills are figured Benjamin Franklin in the front. He was a politician. Independence Hall of the world cultural heritage is printed on the back.
Next is small changes. One cent is called penny. The bust of Abraham Lincoln has been on the penny since 1909. Five cents is called nickel. Since 2006, the image of Thomas Jefferson has been on the nickel. The back of the 2006 nickel features Monticello, Jefferson’s home. Ten cents has another name, dime. The dime shows a portrait of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. A quarter is 4/1 of a dollar or 25 cents. Each year since January 1999 a new quarter is issued by the US Mint every 10 weeks. The quarters commemorate the 50 states. The design features a tree-lined lake with two people fishing, a loon on the water, and a textured outline of the state surrounding its nickname, “Land of 10,000 Lakes.”
I found 4 things by searching U.S. dollars. The U.S. dollars are shown American history, especially person. And Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington were very important people for America because they appear bills and coins. Third, to appear country’s characteristic. For example, a national emblem and nature. Last, I found the words “In God We Trust” from all bills and coins. “In God We Trust” was adopted as the official motto of the United States in 1956. This means that American is Christian and they believe God.
To know currencies is the good means to get country’s history, I think. I would like to study about other country’s currency.
Thank you for listening.

BR04: Unusual Hobbies

Some more unusual special interest hobbies are twister chasing, UFO watching and trainspotting.

Do you have a hobby? Maybe almost of all people have one. I also have it : to listen to music and watch DVDs. Well, do you have unusual hobbies? People who have unusual hobbies are less than people have usual hobbies. My unusual hobbies are to go to the concerts, go to other countries and ride on airplanes. The concerts are not always held. The opportunities which people ride on airplanes is not always when you go to other places or overseas, you get on them. Therefore, when I go to the concerts, I am very excited and when I get on airplanes, I am fascinated.

American Currency

I stayed in Minnesota, America for 4 weeks this summer. I enjoyed staying with my host family. My host family took me to many places. I paid in cash when I went to some groceries with them, but they paid by credit card. Japanese often use cash, but Americans often use their credit cards. Though Americans seldom use cash, there are seven kinds of bills (one dollar, two dollars, five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars and one hundred dollars) and four kinds of coins (quarter dollar, one dime, five cents and one cent), and these money are printed famous people and regions’ character.
In Japan, we can use U.S. dollars in the facilities of United States Forces Japan. We can also use it some stores, especially in Okinawa.
Do you know what thing is figured on dollars? One dollar bills are printed George Washington. He was the first President of America and one of the Founding Fathers of United States. Great Seal of the United States is designed on the back of one dollar bills. Two dollars bills are printed Thomas Jefferson, who was also the Founding Fathers and the maker of the Declaration of Independence. The Unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America is printed on the back. Five dollars bills are printed Abraham Lincoln, who was the 16th the President and Great Emancipator. On the back of five dollars bills, Lincoln Memorial which is to commemorate him is printed. Ten dollars bills are printed Alexander Hamilton. He was the draftsman of Constitution of America. The building of the Department of the Treasury is designed the back of them. Twenty dollars bills are printed Andrew Jackson, who was the 7th President. The backs of them are printed the White House which is the official residence and principal workplace of the president. Fifty dollars bills are printed Ulysses Simpson Grant, who was the 18th President and the general of Civil War. The United States Capital is figured on the back of them. One hundred dollars bills are figured Benjamin Franklin in the front, and he was a politician, a diplomat, an author, a physicist and a meteorologist. Independence Hall of the world cultural heritage is printed on the back.
Next is small changes. One cent is called penny. The bust of Abraham Lincoln has been on the penny since 1909 which was the 100th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth. Since 1959, the reverse on the penny has been an image of the Lincoln Memorial. It commemorated the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth and is found in Washington D.C. Five cents is called nickel. Since 2006, the image of Thomas Jefferson has been on the nickel. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States and the first Secretary of State. He is the author of the Declaration of Independence and an advocate of the separation of church and state. The back of the 2006 nickel features Monticello, Jefferson’s home. Ten cents has another name, dime. The dime shows a portrait of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It was released on his birthday the year after he died. The dime was a good choice because Roosevelt supported the March of Dimes, a program that raised funds for research to find a cure for polio. Roosevelt contracted the polio virus when he was 39 years old. On the back of the dime is a torch signifying Liberty, with an olive branch on the left, signifying peace, and an oak branch on the right, signifying Strength and Independence. A quarter is 4/1 of a dollar or 25 cents. Each year since January 1999 a new quarter is issued by the US Mint every 10 weeks. The quarters commemorate the 50 states. The quarters are issued in the same order in which the states were admitted to the Union. On the back of the quarter, George Washington, the first president of the United States is printed. The date at the bottom of the quarter tells the date that the coin was made at the mint. The second quarter to be released in 2005 commemorates the State of Minnesota, “Land of 10,000 Lakes.” Minnesota became the 32nd state admitted into the Union on May 11, 1858. The design features a tree-lined lake with two people fishing, a loon on the water, and a textured outline of the state surrounding its nickname, “Land of 10,000 Lakes.”
Not only Japanese currency but also American currency is shown the famous people and buildings. For America, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson are very important people because they made American basis. I learned American history when I was high school student and now, but I didn’t know who is printed on the currency. Before I went to America, I didn’t know how many there were kind of small changes. I got small changes in America, but I didn’t know which changes were how much. Therefore, when I exchanged yen for dollars in Japan, I was very interested. The people who I have seen in the world history’s textbook are printed. We can see each countries’ currencies when you use them and also can know own countries’ history, culture and nature. American often doesn’t use cash, so they don’t have times which they see cash. In America, to have much money in cash is very dangerous because the robberies often brake out. However, to use credit card miss opportunities that people know own country’s history, I think. The currency is the nice means to study the country’s history. I would like to search other country’s currency to get knowledge of history, culture and nature.
