Birthday
July 13th was my birthday. I became to be 20 years old. When the date became to be July 13th, bell was rung. I was very surprised that my friends came my apartment. They gave me many presents, accessory, an air cleaner, message board and some cakes. I was really glad!! Then my friends celebrated my birthday at night. I became to be able to drink alcoholic drinks without worry, so I drank them!!
My family also celebrated my birthday. I got a passport case, a bag and some clothes. I was very happy that my friends and family celebrated my birthday. I want to have a nice year!!

I have written the blog for 7 days. I wrote about my home town, what I study and talk at the WIL, what I want to do, my family, book review, typing homework, what I like, my part time job and so on. At first I was tired to write the blog, but I became to like writing the blog. Presents from my family
My birthday is going to come soon. My birth day is July 13th. I went back Kagoshima. When I went back Kagoshima, I got presents from my family. I was glad . One was a pssport case, the other was a bag. A passport case was the same thing as Jejung. I was really surprised since I like him very much. Then I have wanted a bags for a long time, so I was really happy. I got the bag and began to use the bag at once. I want to value these presents for a long time. This is the seventh time this year. The Federal Aviation Administration said there was a problem with fatigue among controllers. There has been a sharp rise in the number of flight, which means more workers have to work night shifts. This situation leads to pilots coming in to land without guidance from a controller.

A long time ago, before there was money, people bartered with one another. This means they swapped one type of good for another.If one person wanted to buy a goat, they had to have something to swap for it. A person might swap a pig for a goat. This is called bartering.
Bartering worked for thousands of years, but there were times when it did not work. Not everyone wanted to swap their goods for the goods they were offered. So another idea was needed. People needed to find a way to trade goods with something that everyone wanted. So the idea of money came about.
I think that money is important things now. But before there was money, other things were important things. I have heard that my grandmother used to bartered with one another. So people could communicate with neighbors. I think that connection with the person has weakened recent and communications skill have decreased. People are not able to live without communication with people. I think that modern people should value the connection with the people more. Do you think so, don't you?

The Space
America's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has announced where its fleet of space shuttles will retire. The Endeavour will be going to the California Science Center in Los Angeles after it finishes its final mission in late April. It was built to replace the Challenger shuttle, which blew up in the sky in 1986. Discovery is going to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, Atlantis' new home will be the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and Enterprise is off to a museum in New York City.
NASA's Charles Bolden said putting the shuttles in museums would get more young people interested in space travel. "People from across our nation and around the world will continue to learn from these amazing vehicles, and the stories of their crews and their missions," said Bolden. Where are you from? Where do you live? I am from Kagoshima but I live in Kumamoto now. I have lived in Kumamoto for 1 year, so I don't know about Kumamoto so much. Although I don't know so much, I will tell you about Kumamoto.
There is a castle in Kumamoto. A castle's name is Kumamoto castle. Do you know it? Have you ever been to Kumamoto castle? Have you ever seen Kumamoto castle? I went to Kumamoto castle for the first time when I was a elementary student. I thought that Kumamoto castle was very magnificent at that time. Kumamoto castle was built 400 years ago. Kumamoto castle is a symbol of Kumamoto, I think. Kumamoto castle have seen Kumamoto's history for 400 years, I think that Kumamoto castle is filled with the histoies. Kumamoto castle towr commands a view of the whole town. Kumamoto castle is filled with tourists who come from foreign country and other prefecture.
I recommend going to Aso. I have been to Aso many times. Aso is a volcano. There are many natures in Aso. I have experienced strawberry picking in Aso. Aso's strawberries are very fresh and delicious. There are many places where we are able to enjoy in Aso. I like Aso Farm Land. When I was a elementary student, I went to Aso Farm Land with my family. I enjoyed riding a horse, touching animals and eating nice foods. I liked Aso Farm Land's cheese cookies very much, but it is not sold now. I sometimes want to eat it. People are also able to make a music box. Choosing a music which you like, and choosing a design. I have made a music box. There is Aso Cuddly Dominion in Aso. Aso Cuddly Dominion is like a zoo, there are many bears and herbivorous animals. People can give bears feeds and touch herbivorous animals. I think that everyone can have a good time.
My father is from Hitoyoshi, so I often go to Hitoyoshi. When I was a high school student, I rafted with my aunt, my sister and her friends. It was very exciting and thrilling. I enjoyed rafting. I think that rafting is a very good play in the summer. After we finished rafting, we did the barbecue. We were able to enjoy rafting and the barbecue. I want to raft again.

BR:10 Making a cake
Is making a cake like making a work of art? Or is making a cake science?
Some people think making a cake is art. They say it is all about how good the cake looks and tastes.
But some people think that making a cake is science. They say it is all about the changes that happen when many ingredients are mixed together to make something new.
Have you ever made a cake? I have made cakes many times. I am good at making a cheese cake. My aunt makes various foods and sweets very well. My aunt taught me how to make a cheese, when I was a junior high school student. I would make a cheese cake when I was lived in Kagoshima. I sometimes beccome feeling that I want to make a cheese cake. Although I remember how to make a cheese cake, there is no utensil at my apartment. Since there are utensils which are used for making a cheese cake at my home, I want to make a cheese cake when I go back to Kagoshima.
Last year, I made a cake with my friend because of other my friend's birthday. We bought ingredients, and we made a great cake. I enjoyed making a cake, my friend was very pleased.

About my part time job
Do you have a part time job? I have a part time job. I have worked for 10 months. When I read "Town Work", I found Korean restaurant's advertisement for part time job. I called there soon. A few days later, I underwent an interview. I passed it. I started working at Korean restaurant. I like South Korea very much, so I was really happy. There are many Korean foods in the restaurant. Do you like Korean foods? I like Korean foods very much. Korean foods are very hot, but it is very delicious.
Various people are working at the restaurant, so I am able to talk with them about many things. I think that it is good for me to work at the restaurant. I want to enjoy working and continue to work at the restaurant until graduating from KGU.

Foreign friends
Do you have foreign friends? I have four Korean friends. They are exchange students. Two of them returned to South Korea in February. I was very lonley when they were gone. A few weeks later, I went to South Korea for sightseeing and meeting her. Since I had been to South Korea once, I didn't have any worry. I met her on the second day. I went to the pizzeria which Junsu's father runs with her. ( Junsu is a member of my favorite K-POP group.) We ate a pizza and pasta. It was very delicious. We talked about many things while eating. After eating it, we got on the subway to go to Myongdong. We arrived in Myongdong and went shopping. I bought many cosmetics. We finished going shopping, we ate a dinner. She took me the restaurant. We ate Korean foods. It was very hot, delicious and cheap. I was amazed. I wasable to spend happy time because I was with her. I am getting touch in her now. I am very happy that I met her.
Now, I am working part-time at Korean restaurant. Two Korean exchange students are working at the same place. They speak Japanese very well. I think that they don't have the working obstacle. One of two is going to returning to South Korea on August 4th, so I want to make many memories with her.

Water is one of the most important resources on Earth. Fresh water is important to all living things. Without water, people, animals and plants could not live.As the number of people in the world grows, so dose the need for water. People must try to protect this important resource.
I also think that water is very important for us. We can live thanks to water. How much water do we use a day? According the Internet, we usually use from 200 to 300 liters a day. I was surprised!! The amount of the water that exists in the earth is limited, so I think that we should reduce amount of water used. We have to protect the nature.

BR:06 Garbage
Many countries are running out of places to build new landfills. However, there are some simple things people can do to reduce the amount of garbage they create. For example, every day, Australians throw out over 500000 plastic shopping bags. If everyone took their own bags to the supermarket, it would save the cost of making all those bags, and it would stop plastic bags going into the garbage.
I think that garbage overflows. What do you think? We should reduce garbage. I think that 3R is very important. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Most important is Reduce, I think. To reduce things which you use is to reduce garbage. We must think garbage.

BR:05 Getting the picture
When photography first began, very few people were able to use cameras. They were large and expensive. Only photographers knew how to use them and how to process the plates or film. Today, cameras are small and quite cheap. They are easy to use and can be connected to a computer program that can make changes to the image and print out the photo. These days, it's easy for anyone to take and to process photos.

Do you know Sunamusi Onsen? Sunamusi Onsen is a spring of sand. I have done it. I felt relaxed. I think it has an ability to reduce our stress.
Kagoshima has many island. I have been to Amami and Tanegashima. When I was a junior high school student, I went to Tanegashima, when I was a high school student, I went to Amami. The reason why I went to Tanegashima and Amami was training camp of volleyball. I stayed near the sea. The sea was very beautiful. It was very clear and light bule. I was very surprised. I had never seen such a sea. The sky was beautifule too. When I was outside at night, I saw sky and stars. It was very beautiful. I was very impressed. I was very relaxed. I recommend there.
My home town is Satsumasendai city. Satsumasendai has two big festivals. One is a big tug-of-war, other is fireworks. I have seen a big tug-of-war once. It was very exciting festival. I have been to fireworks festival many times. I often go to it with my friends. Every year, many people come to Satsumasendai. I think that two festival are good festival because of leading to Satsumasendai's activation.
There are many wonderful things in Kagoshima. Please come to Kagoshima by all means.

Going to America
I am going to America this summer for a month. I have never been to America, so I am very excited. I am going to stay with my host family. My host family is host father, host mother, host sister and host brother. I am looking forward to meeting them. They like to play sports, and I like to play sports too. I want to play sports with my host family. I want to go out with them and I want to know Minnesota.
I want to teach them about Japan and K-POP. I think that Japan's good point is geniality. Now, Japan have a big problem. Since I am a Japanese and I like Japan, I want to teach that Japan is safety and beautiful place. Then I like K-POP too. As there are many K-POP's charms, I want to tell them.
I am living in Kumamoto apart from my family, so I cook meals. I want to cook Japanese food for them. I want to be told me to cook American food.
I want to experience many things. I think that going to America makes me strong. I want to speak English better than now. I am looking forward to going to America and meeting my host family. I will do my best!!:)

My life
Do you like to read books? I don't like to read books so much, but I read a book recently. I was so impressed by the book. I will introduce the book.
The book which I was impressed is "17 things which people have to do in teens (10代ć«ćć¦ćććć17ć®ććØ）. When I went to the bookstore, TSUTAYA, I found this book immediately. I was fascinated by this book because I am a last teenager, 19 years old. When I saw the title of this book, I felt that "What are the things whish people have to do?" I write about 17 things.
1. To know that there is no correct answer in the life.
2. To observe of the social system.
3. To doubt common sense of the world and parents' words once.
4. To meet happy wonderful people.
5. To imagine your parents when your parents were a teenager.
6. To be obvious about your likes and dislikes.
7. To consider the future.
8. To know that "thinking and emotion" are worked your life.
9. To consider what you learn.

Travel and Transportation
I asked my friends about traveling and transportation.
My friend likes traveling because it is very fun and gets rid of her stress. Niigata is the farthest place she has been. When she was second year student in high school, she went to Niigata. She visited there for school trip. She likes its natural because there are snow and forests. The best place she has been is Okinawa, because sea is very beautiful. She visited there when she was third year student in junior high school. She visited there for school trip. She wants to go abroad, she wants to go to Australia in particular. She hasn't been abroad, so she really wants to go abroad. Traveling Osaka with her family is the best memory for her. She likes to travel by plane and train. She wants to travel with her boyfriend. She wants to go to Disney Land with him.

Today, I practiced conversation in English with new teacher, Daniel and three people. We talked about smoking. Have you ever smoked? I have never. I don't like a cigarette. I think that smoking is one of the cause which people get cancer. What do you think?

This means from January the 1st, 2012, there could be no logos on cigarette packs. All cigarette boxes will be a dull, olive green colour that was specially chosen because people thought it was so unattractive. In addition, all product names will be the same size, colour and font. Politicians believe that taking away brand appeal will reduce smoking.
Tobacco giant Philip Morris, maker of the world's leading cigarette brand Marlboro, wants to sue the Australian government. They say the new packaging means there is unfair competition. They point out that the law says logos are property and thus their property is being attacked. Companies have been angry for some time because of the gory and graphic pictures they have to put on their boxes alongside health warnings. About KGU
About KGU!!
We always go to the students’ dining hall. There are many kinds of foods in it. We have eaten many foods but have not eaten all foods yet. We can drink water, hot water and green tea free of charge. Megumi’s favorite food is a bowl of curry and rice because it is cheap, and it makes me full. Nanami’s favorite food is a cutlet and rice. It consists of rice, fine strips of cabbage, cutlet, sauce and a soft-boiled egg. I don’t like boiled eggs, so I don’t eat it. After we have lunch, while talking with our friends, we spend free time. We sometimes go to the packed lunch shop, and buy a nori box lunch.
This right picture is a bowl of rice topped with deep-fried chicken, and another picture is a curry and rice topped with cutlet. We often eat a curry and rice topped with cutlet than a bowl of rice topped with deep-fried chicken.
We sometimes go to LAWSON. There are many appealing goods; for example, magazines, Summer Chinese noodles, juices and many kinds of confectionery. Megumi loves Choshinsei; Lawson is their sponsor, and I belong to their Japan official fan club, and I often make use of Lawson to order their articles in advance. I will go to LAWSON frequently.

KGU has a great library. The library is a building of three stories. There are many kinds of books in the first floor, for example there are novels, literary works, reference books, English books, magazines and so on. Then there are also many computers. We often use them. A library has a study room which students can use while talking. The room is always filled with KGU students. Next there are encyclopedias, dictionaries and world’s newspapers and magazines. We are studying about newspaper headlines now, so we read newspapers and use there. There is also a wonderful area in the second floor. It is the Audio Visual corner!! The Audio Visual corner has many DVDs and CDs all over the world. We can watch and listen them for our studying. Many students use them. Students occasionally use the area to kill time. The third floor has special books, and people who use there are studying hard. Not only students but also general people can use KGU library.
There is a bakery in KGU. There are many kinds of breads and they are very delicious. We can eat breads hot from the oven because they are made in the bakery. There are always many people in the bakery since the bakery is very fashionable. We often talk with our friends there. We can listen to recent tunes, so we can have a good time.
KGU also has a bookstore which is called “Maruzen”. Novels, magazines, collections of problems, stationery and snacks are sold there. It is cheaper to buy books in Maruzen than other bookstores. We think that it is convenient for students that there is Maruzen.

CLUBS AND SPORTS
I introduce my friend.
My friend is in a flower arrangement club because it seems to be very fun. Her club do flower arrangement and have a dinner with club's member. She enjoys doing flower arrangement.
In high school, she played volleyball. When she was elementary school 3 grade, she started playing volleyball. She had played volleyball for 9 years. Her position was setter and libero. She was also a vice captain, so she worked to support her team's captain and her team member. She learned to coorperate with her team's member, emotional strength and of course physical strength. Volleyball made her strong. She have seen pro volleyball players. When she saw pro volleyball players, she was excited. She wants to see them again, and play volleyball with them. She also likes to play soccer, baseball, basketball and so on. She likes to play ball game.
I also had played volleyball for about 7 years. I think that volleyball changed me. Volleyball makes me strong. If it had not been for volleyball, I would not be strong.

Olive oil
I went to WIL to take a class English conversation last Tuseday. We talked about miracle cures.
It is a well known fact that olive oil is good for our health. Many studies show people who use a lot of olive oil in their food have fewer heart attacks. A new study finds that olive oil also cuts the risk of having a stroke. A report from France's University of Bordeaux finds that using a lot of olive oil in cooking and salad dressings reduces the risk of stroke by an average of 41 per cent. Research leader Dr Cecilia Samieri said doctors should recommend olive oil for older people, alongside more fruit and vegetables and less salt.
There has been lots of research into the benefits of olive oil with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. The place in the world where people use a lot of olive oil are those where people live longer. Olive oil is a key part of the Mediterranean diet, which is famous for being healthy. Thousands of year ago people called olive oil "liquid gold". In ancient Greece, people used it as medicine and athletes rubbed it all over their bodies because they believed they would run faster.
I sometimes use sesame oil. It smells good and is good for our health. We should think about foods to keep our health good. I eat as many vegetables as I can.

Vacation plans
I am looking forward to coming summer vacation!! This summer is different from usual summer. I am going to go to America this summer. I have been to South Korea, but I have never been to America. I am going to stay with my host family. I will have stayed to them for about 4 weeks. I will spend time with my host family. I am really looking forward to meet my host family. I am going to study English at Bethel University. I would like to speak English better than before I go there. I hope that my ability at English and my spirit grow up.

About blogging
I sometimes write a diary at the blog. Only when I want to write, I write. I think that I am a capricious person, so when I am not in a mood for writing, I don't write. I have had some blogs since I was a high school student. Althogh I have some blogs, almost all of blogs have not been updated. I think that the blog is a means of the recent situation report to the friends, so I sometimes update one blog which I have. It is difficult for me to update everyday... But I have to update KGU's blog, so I am doing my best.
